Polyurethane cable is referred to as PUR cable; it is halogen-free and flame retardant and offers higher mechanical and chemical resistance, which makes the cable suitable for harsh environments.

Our subsea range uses polyurethane as a well-performing sheath material while keeping the cable flexible for subsea applications that require frequent or continuous bending.

This is a gel-filled cable; the gel is added over the braided shield or extruded on top of the foil shield. Because it is a gel it tends to flow and fill any gap or opening that appears, which makes it effective for water blocking and long-term protection of subsea cables.
