PDK41904-2x1.2 Aerostat Tether Cable, 750 VDC, 200 kg, 5.4 mm

Tethered Drone Cables · Tethered Systems

Aerostat tether cable with 2x1.2 mm2 lightweight copper alloy conductors, aramid braid reinforcement, 200 kg breaking force, 750 VDC, 7-10 A, 5.4 mm OD.

Custom manufacturing is available for each project: conductor cross-section and core count, shielding type, sheath colour, length and print marking can all be adapted to the operating conditions; technical parameters are subject to the specification document confirmed by both parties.

Product introduction

This product is a multifunctional tether cable designed for aerostats (tethered balloons, airships, high-altitude observation platforms and similar), combining high-strength mechanical load capacity with stable power transmission.

The cable uses a two-conductor composite construction with good tensile performance (breaking force ≥200 kg) and can deliver a rated current of 7-10 A.

It meets the requirements of tethering and securing the aerostat, powering high-altitude equipment and transmitting signals at the same time.

It is a suitable choice for weather monitoring, communication relay and security surveillance.

Advantages and technical features

Tensile reinforcement layer: the conductor is covered with a high-strength aramid fibre braid. Breaking force up to 200 kg, with flexibility and impact resistance to cope with strong wind, sudden load changes and similar conditions.

Environmental performance — weather-resistant sheath: the outer layer uses UV-modified polyurethane (TPU), which is abrasion resistant, corrosion resistant and tolerant of high and low temperatures (-40 °C to +105 °C), suited to marine, desert and high-altitude climates.

Lightweight design: small cable diameter (5.4 ± 0.3 mm) and low weight (31 ± 1.0 g/m) to minimise the impact on aerostat lift.

Multifunctional integration — optional reserved signal channel (such as a fibre optic or coaxial construction), supporting power and data in one cable and simplifying aerostat system wiring.

Typical applications

Weather and environmental monitoring: tethered balloons carrying weather sensors and cameras to collect high-altitude temperature, humidity, wind speed and air quality data in real time.

Emergency communications and safety: rapid deployment of tethered platforms at disaster sites to provide temporary communication base stations or HD surveillance coverage.

Research and defence: high-altitude optical observation, electronic reconnaissance, target drone towing and similar special missions.

Commercial applications: power supply and securing of advertising balloons, light shows and other aerial installations.

Installation and maintenance recommendations

Installation: ensure that the connections between the cable and the aerostat and the ground anchor use dedicated shackles or abrasion-resistant sleeves, and avoid excessive bending.

Periodic inspection: inspect the cable surface for wear, check conductor continuity and joint sealing once a quarter. In harsh environments the inspection interval should be shortened.

Safety warning: overloading is strictly prohibited (a safety factor of ≥3 times the working load is recommended for breaking force), and full-load current should not coincide with the ultimate tensile load.

PAIDEKABLE provides reliable connections for high-altitude exploration. The tether uses precise processes and military-grade materials to ensure performance, helping customers achieve safe, efficient and long-term operation of aerostat systems.
